The first Coomander and General of the Carabinieri Corps was born in Nice Marittima the 8th of October, 1756. He was the eldest son of Charles Francis, Viceroy of Sardinia, Piedmont Army Supreme Commander, in the campaign of the Alps Against France, General of the Infantry, Governor in Turin. Giuseppe Alessandro begins is military and political career In the footsteps of his father, he became Secretary and Aide Course. In the Legion Captain of the camps in 1802 and was appointed Governor in Sassari, Infantry General in 1812 and in 1814 General Governor in Turin. In the same year, 1814, with Royal Patents of July 13, the King Vittorio Emanuele I establishing in Carlina square in Turin the Corps of the Royal Carabinieri consisting of six Divisions, Torino, Cuneo, Alessandria, Nice, Novara, Savona, to which is added in next year a seventh one, Genoa. The King entrusts the General Command of "Arma" to the Marquis Giuseppe Alessandro Thaon de Revel and Saint-Andre. Always in 1814 the Marquis inherit the assets of Baron Luigi Blancardi Roero of Turbia, and, by the way, the Ternavasso estate in Poirino City. First General Police Commander, Inspector of the Royal Army, Supreme Knight of SS. Annunziata Order, The Marquis died in Turin July 21, 1820. The following day he was buried in Ternavasso, in the small cemetery of the church, next to his successors and heirs. Gen.C.A. Marquis Giuseppe Thaon de Revel e S. L'ANC Poirino a fianco del Lions Club Poirino Santena, che in collaborazione con Podistica Tranese e con il patrocinio delle Amministrazioni Comunali di Poirino e Santena organizza domenica 8 maggio 2016 alle 9.30 la 4ª Edizione della Lions Ten, una Corsa non competitiva di 12 km da Santena a Poirino ed una camminata di 5 km con partenza dalla Frazione Favari e arrivo a Poirino nei pressi dell'oratorio San Luigi.
